The government of Iraq has placed an order to Boeing for dozens of airliners. If the re-emergence of the Iraq Airlines, after being nearly mothballed years ago - they were down to two aircraft - does not represent substantial and tangible progress in the war, I’m not sure what would please war critics.
I was also watching TV this morning and a senior Iraqi official acknowledged that Al-Qaeda is nearly defeated in Iraq - meaning that the terrorist organization has very little capability to operate from within Iraq. This is tremendous news that should be seen for what it is - we are winning this war, we will win this war. Just like in Viet Nam, the only way we can lose this war is if we DECIDE to lose the war.
